Kishanganj district is one of the thirty-eight districts of
Bihar state, India, and Kishanganj town is the administrative headquarters of
this district. Kishanganj district is a part of Purnia division.
The
organization is situated in Terahagachh Block of Kishenganj district, Bihar.
Kishenganj has the highest concentration of Muslims in the district population
among all districts of Bihar, amounting to almost 68%. The district is located
in the north-eastern part of Bihar having geographical spread of 193,855
Hectares. It shares its borders with West Bengal on the one side and Nepal on
the other. The population of district according to 2001 census is 12.94 lakhs.
Some of the villages are densely populated while others are sparsely populated
comprising mainly of OBC, Surjapuri Hindus and Muslims. There are few Santhal
pockets in the area too.
The Dalit men and women both are engaged in
agricultural labour work and during off season’s maximum family migrate to
nearby cities to earn livelihood for survival. The black spot/colour is the
Kishanganj district of Bihar state.
